Engineered Quartz for Stairs

Engineered Quartz for Stairs

Stair treads are worn down daily by footsteps, shoes, and luggage. Using natural stone for stairs is problematic; natural marble is too soft, granite is too expensive, and ceramic tile is too brittle. Our engineered quartz stairs offer high hardness, good toughness, and a variety of colors. In a duplex apartment in Qingdao, the owner chose dark gray quartz for the stair treads, paired with glass handrails, creating a very modern look.

Our processed Engineered Quartz stair slabs include treads (horizontal surface) and risers (vertical surface), and can be made into an L-shaped integrated corner, reducing splicing. The surface features anti-slip grooves - several shallow grooves - to increase friction. Prefabricated according to CAD drawings and assembled on-site, one floor can be completed per day. The price is 30% cheaper than granite. Anti-slip test reports are provided, and the stairs comply with building codes.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ

Q: How thick should the stair treads be?

A: 20mm is recommended for treads, and 15mm for risers. If the overhang exceeds 30cm, 25mm is recommended.

Q: Will the anti-slip grooves trap dust?

A: There will be a little, but it can be wiped clean with a vacuum cleaner or a damp cloth. Alternatively, you can skip the anti-slip grooves and use a non-slip surface treatment (leather or matte).

Q: Can you make a curved staircase?

A: Yes. It requires a custom mold, which is more expensive. A small curve is possible.
